TNBR has developed a Pilot Cable Fault Detection System to identify the accurate location of underground pilot cable fault. This system principle is based on the high frequency pulse injection and the radiation of the electromagnetic waves (radio waves) concepts.


This Pilot Cable Fault Detection System consisted of a frequency generator and a complete functional hand held receiver. The verification and validation system was done on the field tests conducted at actual distribution network sites.
